The Bodhicitta Girls’ Home is a refuge to over 30 girls
The Bodhicitta Girls’ Home is a refuge to over 30 girls, with plans to expand once the land (valued at $250,000 USD) has been paid. These girls range in age from 14 – 24, and come from poor backgrounds from across India. These girls have escaped human trafficking, child marriage, child labour, homelessness, and even abuse. Most lack quality (if any) education, but are able to engage in a three-year degree (nursing, social work, science, law, etc.). This degree allows them to also learn more practical daily life skills, like sewing, computer-literacy, and beauty therapy; this, in turn, allows the girls to eventually return to their communities. Once they return, they offer 450 hours of social work training to other women to help them also achieve independence. By investing in just one woman, the rest of the community can benefit from satellite social work centres in rural areas.
How you can help us
